5th Annual Michigan Energy Fair: LEEC will be an exibitor at this years fair promoting product, engineering, service policies, technologies, and practices that are environmentally and economically sustainable. The show gives tools to the consumer to partnering with key stakeholders to connect businesses, government, and communities to increase use of renewable energy technologies. Previous years the Michigan Energy Fair was held at the Manistee County Fairgrounds in Onekam, Michigan. This year the location has been moved to Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Michigan. At its peak in Onekama the fair drew over 6,000 attendees. This year the expectation is that the crowds will be much larger. Former speakers have included Governor Jennifer Granholm, Lt. Governor John Cherry, Representative Dan Scripps, Scott Harrison CEO of Azure Dynamics and many others.
The 6th annual Small Wind Conference: Stevens Point, Wisconsin. This annual conference is the premier event for small wind-electric system designers and installers, and for those involved in sales, specification, management, funding, and permitting of small wind systems. More than 300 small wind professionals and industry representatives from across the United States and nine countries attended the 2009 conference, a key opportunity for open and honest dialogue, networking and education within the industry. This conference is the only conference that I am aware of that addresses the entire gamut of issues pertinent to the small wind community Wind system installers, site assessors, equipment dealers and distributors, manufacturers, renewable energy program implementers, state funding agencies, educators, zoning officials, policy makers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend. Those considering entering the small wind industry are also invited. This conference is not intended for homeowners or end users.
Bergey Dealer Training: Sam Simonetta (Senoir Assessor and Mechanical Engineer) has completed the dealer training workshop in Norman, Oklahoma. The workshop focused on one day of classroom work and two days of field work and included a factory process tour. The concentration was on home and farm grid-intertied (AC) market, covering BWC products, marketing, site surveys, budgeting, performance, economics, interconnection and permitting. The field work coverer full installation of a 10 kW on a 100 ft guyed-lattice tower and the assembly and erection of the Excel Self-Supporting tower. Completed March of 2010.
Southwest Wind Power - Skystream 3.7 Dealer Training: LEEC has completed the SWWP webinar, LEEC became eligible to attend a five-day comprehensive training course. This course was a requirement to be a SWWP dealer. Pete Cummings completed Southwest Windpower the five-day professional and qualified dealer training. SWWP approved our business model and testing to sell, properly site, install and service Southwest Windpower products March of 2010.
Welcome Sam Simonetta: LEEC is pleased to announce the addition of our newest employee, Sam Simonetta. Sam enters LEEC as an experienced administrative staff member to help with Site Assessment, Sales and Mechanical Engineering. He has over 10 years of experience. Sam was brought on-board in March of 2010 as the Senior Site Assessor and Mechanical Engineer. Sam is also a instructor at the MREA part time.
Harbor Springs New 10 kw wind turbine installation: Bergey grid tied system 80' tower. Expected annual output of 8,200 kWh. Reducing the energy used from the grid by 50% for a local business.
Gulliver Michigan New 10 kw wind turbine installation: ReDriven grid tied system 100' Hydrolic tower. Expected output 15,000 kWh. Generating an excess of power and returning 6,000 kWh per year, participating in a "Net Metering Program".
North Central Michigan College (New Wind Turbine Installation): Oversee foundation construction process, windspire foil & strut assembly and other component execution to prep for a turbine installation with the renewable energy class of NCMC.
North Central Michigan College (New Wind Turbine Installation) : Wind Turbine Finial Assembly, Erection and Interconnection.
N. Michigan Small Farm Conference: President Christopher Stahl will be speaking on a panel for wind energy opportunities for farmers. The conference is on Saturday January 30, 2010 in Grayling. The panel will only focus on wind energy.
34th Annual Home Show: North Central Michigan College Student & Community Resource Center. We will be participating as an exibitor. Stop and see us at booth 38.
NAHB Design/Build: The few and the bold have benefited from implementing a design/build strategy and how to make your own design/build business a success. As a graduate of this course, you will be able to: • Explain design in the context of design/build • Understand how incorporating design into your business will impact your build operation • Illustrate the process for implementing design/build • Develop design/build marketing strategies • Implement the design/build full-service sell concept
AWEA Small and Community Wind Conference and Exhibition: (In Detroit) Wind power has emerged as a cost effective, clean, and scalable solution to satisfy growing energy needs. For homes, farms and ranches, businesses, rural electric cooperatives, and municipal utilities, renewable electricity generated and used on-site creates opportunities to make money, save money and be more energy independent. Focusing on important topics such as national renewable energy legislation, technology costs, zoning requirements, utility interconnection, tax revenues and investment opportunities, this conference offers valuable information on how best to capitalize on wind technology.
Mariah Power Seminar: Emphasis will be on installation, sales and service of the Mariah Windspire. Covering owners manuals, WindSync download instructions, literature and much more. The seminar will end with a tour of the Mariah/Mastech production facility in Manistee
Mariah Power advanced tech and electrician onsite training: Analyzing interconnection techniques and foundation engineering details. Understanding and applying dynamic attributes of turbine-generator-foundation systems. Sending our staff of sales/assessor, master and journeyman riggers who are gaining experienced in their field.
Wind Systems Certification: Midwest Renewable Energy Association - size wind systems for residential and business energy consumption: wind resources, basic system components, system types, turbine types, applications, and tower types.
Wind Site Assessor Certification Training: Midwest Renewable Energy Association - evaluate a site’s wind energy potential, determine wind speeds at proposed heights, make a load profile for a client’s energy needs, determine appropriate tower heights and estimate kWh output for a system based upon wind resources.
WINDPOWER 2009 Conference and Exhibition: is the largest annual wind conference and exhibition in the world. Wind energy professionals gather at this event to learn about the latest industry developments and technologies
2009 Small Wind Conference: Updates from manufacturers and importers, Wind turbine testing and results, Wind resource assessment, National Electric Code, Lessons learned from the field,Overcoming barriers; zoning, interconnection.

Northwind 100 Installation and Maintenance: Certification: The objective of the Northwind 100 Installation, Operation & Maintenance training is to prepare construction/project managers, lead installers and site superintendents to effectively manage the installation of a Northwind 100 on time and on budget. In addition, this three‐day course will highlight key aspects of the turbine’s operation, remote monitoring and maintenance.
Wind Turbine Design Certification: Midwest Renewable Energy Association - design considerations that go into the manufacture of a wind generator. Components will be studied including their structure, function, materials, how they operate, and reliability to understand what choices various manufacturers have made for their products and why. All of the commercially available wind equipment on the market will be considered. This workshop will help wind site assessors, equipment dealers, installers ferret out the pro’s and con’s of all the wind generator options in the market place.
Wind Systems Repair and Maintenance Certification: Midwest Renewable Energy Association -perform repairs and annual maintenance on a number of area wind turbines and systems. This is a working workshop with optional tower climbing. Machines from 1 kW to 20 kW will be covered, including work on freestanding, guyed lattice and tilt-up towers.
